Joker is one of my all-time favorite comic characters and probably my favorite villain, but everything about this movie and the discussion around it just makes me feel physically tired. At least Leto-Joker was easily dismissed as a dumb stunt that was barely even in that crap movie, this movie and the surrounding

I really like the “ugly SNES” aesthetic of the second one, even if its not as clean as the brilliant simplicity of the first one. The new weapons are good for mixing it up when you have played the first one to death. Although I hate that goddamn bow and arrow because my brother is much quicker and more efficient with

He did mention Richard Scarry in passing in the first paragraph. Good call on Nidhogg, though, that game is my shiiiiiiiit!

Watch The Boys before anything else.

Forcing myself to watch Carnival Row. I feel obligated as Amazon clearly spent a lot of money on this.

13 Reasons Why, Season 3.

Captain Marvel, which I thought was good-not-great.

Saturday at the movies! I saw:

Bought a couple of things yesterday afternoon, 7 Sept. 2019, Saturday.

I caught up on Agents of SHIELD. I’d been planning to watch it on Amazon, but even with Prime, it’s behind another paywall, so in the end I used less legit means. But yeah: it’s Stargate. They straight-up made a season of Stargate. Not that I didn’t enjoy it!

I watched It Chapter Two on Friday, I couldn’t get into it due to the fact that the two couples sitting next to me wouldn’t stop either talking or making out with each other. Like whoopsie doo Child Murders turn y’all on, good for you, now shut up so I can eat my pringles in peace.

Thanks to Tubi, I’ve been watching a bunch of esoteric stuff for free. Vampire Cleanup Service was cute & had traditional hopping vampires. For having such a great cast, Suburban Gothic was meh. Verily Sadomaster: Total Mayhem is the magnum opus of Argentine splatterpunk. Tubi didn’t provide the option of subtitles or

Brightburn. “What if Superman was evil?” has kind of been done to death in the comics but it’s a solid, Omen-like setup for a horror movie. It starts out OK but once the gory kills begin it falls apart. Elizabeth Banks is really good in it as a loving mother who refuses to accept mounting evidence that something is

Peanut Butter Falcon. Nice one to see with the parents. There were a few odd choices made in the third act, but they didn’t ruin what came beforehand for me.

Now playing

Once again, not a huge week for me in media because I’ve been working a lot, but most importantly, I finished up my course work and got my bachelor’s degree. I did it!

Since Bruce Greene’s leaving Funhaus, I’m basically doing a binge of Funhaus videos from 2015 onwards.

It: Chapter 2. Hader is terrific, the other adult actors mostly do very well, and the child actors from the first movie continue to be very winning. But my god is it badly paced. The problem isn’t how long it is. It’s how weirdly it flows. The character re-introductions are done at breakneck speed but several of the

Watch the Delgados try to bury this. Tim is out there fighting, and everyone is against him.

I would have been that one dude who brought towels and biscuits.

Given the history of Quebec and the attitude displayed by English-speaking citizens of Canada, I figured they were trying to make a point with that name.
