I think I know which theory and I never thought how it might be invalidated by that scene. I guess if that scene is retconned as just some random guy being turned into an Other and not the Night King it could work.

I must be wrong then. I assumed the Wall existed. The Wiki says it takes place during the Long Night and the Age of Heroes and is 8,000 year prior and:

I really like the Joe Chill Night King face more than the current Night King face. The one pictured just seems more stately and smooth, like walking smoke out of a dream. The other’s just some guy.

You might be getting one. The Naomi Watts prequel is called The Long Night, I think set 10.000 years prior? I guess it’s after the Wall has been established for awhile.

Common Game of Thrones fan-casting before it started filming:

It would be nice if Davos remembered he had a wife (I think he mentioned her in S2 in the show.) If he lives (and I bet a large number of “nice” characters will be sacrificed to the grimdark gods) it would be good for him to sail home. Him or Grey Worm or Tormund or Gendry or Bronn: my money’s on most of their kind

I think Albert Hammond has already definitively covered this topic. (Or apparently Toni Tony Tone.)

Davos being condemned to die, then producing the scroll to save him, then Melisandre saving him and Stannis laughing: it’s too quick and too easy in how it’s staged. It looks like a cheap reversal, an easy way out for Davos in a show famed for not allowing easy way outs.

He was always in my mind for the book version of Stannis in GoT, though Stephen Dillane knocked it out of the park.

I really wanted Marshall to return for the final season but I guess Sapochnik took the spot and Marshall traded his prestige for a blockbuster helming job, a la Alan Taylor, who recently came back for Beyond the Wall.

Getting to hear McShane mellifluous voice (let alone him mentioning 1866, about or very near the year Deadwood was founded) is all I need.

In both book and show, the amount of times Ygritte says “YKN, JS” beggars belief. The first few times it’s cute. The second, you think, well, she thinks it’s cute. And then you forget about the (tough warrior) character and realize you’re being pavloved, and it’s a mild Poochie-esque catchphrase. (I think Poochie had

If they had stuck the landing at the HotU it would have been a lot more impactful. As it is Pyatt Pree (I think that’s Purple Lips) seems very stupid to underestimate Daenerys and her dragons. All she has to do it stretch her arms out and they set him on fire, and that’s it. I would have liked if her fire was shown to

Another fun crazy theory I remember was “Ned warged into Ice,” his sword which was used to behead him. On the ASOIAF subreddit, this was written and plotted out using supporting clues from the text.

That works with my conception of Original Willow. She’s still Goth styling. but she has a sweater.

A lot of these changes sound great. The ones that seem a little off are student Robin Wood (he was a breath of fresh air because of how different he was from the other principals) and how Willow looks like a generic heroine in her Hot Topic battle stance above, despite the changes making sense in the description.

It even started well, like the quasi-serious Craig S. Zahler-penned piece of trash reimagining I wanted it to be. The kooky Udo Kier scene, then the realistic sad life of Lennon at his parents’ house. And then it became like other bad Puppet Master movies, hard swerve. Except filmed with modern lenses.
