It's really popular both in japan and outside. It's also regarded by many as "the last good FF".

The SNES/PSX era FF are better but they would actually need a full remake. FFX, being a PS2 game, can easily be remastered which is much cheaper as actually redoing the whole game

I would never intentionally spoil the plot of something to someone that hasn't seen it. But I've had people get mad at me because without even thinking about it I talked about the end of some random show that ended 6 months ago.

But it does sort of make all previous systems useless. I know people that very recently purchased a Ps3 to play games like The last of us, Uncharted and Infamous.
