It enrages me that he jumped immediately to cigarettes and alcohol, instead of thinking that it might just be going to something else like gas, or food for home.

I kinda got it during the run of the show . . . teenagers are stupid and even the really smart ones sometimes fall for assholes and scumbags. Turning it into some sort of grand romance for the movie, though, fell very flat for me. 

A friend of mine makes pesto with a knife, just mincing and mincing and mincing endlessly, and it is good, but it’s not so good that I don’t think she’s crazy.

I think you could argue the first season is just one of the best first seasons of any show ever. VM was incredibly dark for a show about a high schooler... at the time. It really laid the groundwork for all of the dark teen shows we have now. It pretty much created a genre and I don’t think anyone has done it better…

Weird that there’s no mention of Weevil in this article. His attempt to go legit, and the way the town refuses to let him, was the most striking thing to me about the movie. It was heartbreaking to see him return to the PCH life at the end.  

I went along with it, because I went along with it in “Chernobyl,” (except strangely for the part where the miner played by Trevor from Eastenders used his natural Scottish accent and threw me for a minute). The difference here was that Rasputin played his role as if he were a football hooligan from the 90s.

I watched this in the dentist’s chair and I knew how racy it was. I just didn’t care because every time I go there it’s a clusterfuck so I was feeling petty.

Get out of my brain. We routinely make a sort of general “green sauce” to use up leftover herbs; mix them with oil, some acid, some heat, and whatever flavoring agents you have (fish sauce and Maggi sauce work PHENOMENALLY well, even in conjunction).
