I have only watched two anime series in the past 10 years since I permanently ditched anime as one of my regular entertainment sources.. and that's Gantz & Death Note. Both I enjoyed immensely.

I'm sorry you're right. There is no way to disable trophy notifications. I got mixed up with another option in the system menu called 'do not display notifications" but apparently that only disables notifications of who is online. sorry!
