You must not be aware, 90's grunge puppy that you are, that grunge gods like Jerry Cantrell, Stone Gossard, and Billy Corgan were heavily influenced by Eddie. I guess you also don't realize that in the early 80's Eddie used a lot of drop-D tuning in his songs, which became a signature of grunge a decade later.
