That interview doesn’t exactly scream Mo’Nique is easy to work with.

The people who don’t think Encanto was a big success for Disney don’t know any kids. It was inescapable for a year after it came out, with songs from the soundtrack hitting the top 100, every kid in the world singing them constantly, and the movie moved a lot of merch.

Disney doesn’t view cartoons as a success solely

Personally I think the mistake Disney has made is their content strategy, not the release of Disney+.

Yup. I’m generally pro “people not assaulting one another”, but I also don’t trust cops or believe they automatically make situations like this better, so frankly if there’s a way to resolve the matter without them I’d go for it, especially for something on the level of a shove.

I don’t know that hypotheticals like this do a lot of good, because we just fill the empty space with whatever our preexisting beliefs are.

I think it depends on the kind of assault. If one person merely shoves another, I want to separate the parties, but I don’t necessarily want the police to show at that moment and haul one of them away. If one person shoves another down and begins kicking them in the face, then I really would like the police to arrive

Under California law, there shouldn’t have been a citizen’s arrest at all. Absent an immediate, ongoing threat, you’re just supposed to file a police report and let them perform the arrest at the appropriate time.

These two things are not the same. Delaying arrests or allowing people to surrender themselves for misdemeanors is common as hell.

Honest question to Lorne: Who is asking for Nicky Fucking Haley to be on SNL?

If it helps, Lorne’s an all-purpose starfucker, so it’s unlikely that this is strictly political.

Hello, I’m Super Smart Lefty. I’m so super smart I still can’t see the difference between the parties even though women have lost abortion rights because Trump was elected over Hillary.

This. Winning an Oscar isn’t the best thing. Sometimes it can be the worst thing. Driving Miss Daisy will go down through the years, as the film that won the year Do the Right Thing wasn’t even nominated. Same with How Green Was My Valley winning over Citizen Kane (though HGWMV is a beautiful film in its own right).

I agree getting an Oscar is neat, but it won’t make me like or dislike an actor or movie for that matter. Also I will say thing cause I do on any article about Robbie, she is a fucking ray of sunshine always a total delight.

I don’t watch the show, know little about Jamie Chung but...why would that be surprising?  She doesn’t seem particularly famous, it’s a popular show, why would she be above appearing in a cameo?

There’s an entire show about Hawkeye feeling sad because he went on a mass murdering rampage that one time and this is the hill you’re dying on?

Pretty shocked not to see Ezra Miller anywhere on here. And on that note, The Flash is nowhere to be found either, and it should really be on the Worst Picture list. That was the biggest flop in a year of superhero flops, but more importantly it was also an aggressively insulting movie that forced us to endure two of

I think the problem is the show (and possibly the books) set up two completely different climaxes that had to be addressed equally, and it ultimately undermined the tension of The Long Night.

The two big conflicts - the Battle for the Throne and the Battle for the Living, were the 1A 1B narratives that drove the whole

I think S1-2 of Barry were comedy and then S3 took its real Sopranos turn

There is no logical debate here at all. The Bear is a fantastic show, but it shouldn’t remotely be considered a comedy, and it’s not fair to the other actual comedies to put them in that category.

In looking at the best lead actor nominees, the only one you could realistically substitute DiCaprio in for would be Colman Domingo in Rustin, and I don’t think the demands on the former for his Killers role were anywhere close. It was a decent performance, but there just wasn’t a whole lot of nuance involved in
