I wish people would stop insinuation that family friendly means “made for kids”. Just because something doesn’t drop an F-bomb every scene, and contain several liters of various bodily fluids every episode doesn’t mean it’s “for kids” This is the kind of stale thinking that’s preventing all the different forms of

I’d be fine transferring at least 50% of the Chris Pratt hate over to Levi. Both are disliked for being too creepy and hardcore about their religion, but Levi doesn’t receive nearly the backlash that Pratt does.

Yeah, based on how much he was coming up on my FYP, I assumed he killed someone.  Not that he wrote a vague tweet and failed to correct Joe Rogan one time. Same thing with Pratt, I wouldn’t like the guy (unless he’s playing Andy) but he’s pretty low on the list of terrible people.

Yeah, this is my take. He sounds like he kinda sucks, but I feel like a lot of super online crusaders are trying to make him out as directly shitty instead of shitty-adjacent. Not that it’s good to be shitty-adjacent.

Some of this sounds like extremely online people drawing conclusions based on out-of-context statements, but I can’t respect anyone who willingly follows Jordan Peterson. He’s not a “deep thinker,” he’s a crybaby.

“But these kinds of superpower heroes, really do we need that?”

I expect that his filmography will be exclusively biopics and documentaries until he dies. Y'know, so he can exclusively cover those "real heroes."

It must piss him off so much that Micheal Keaton went back to playing Batman.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Who’s going to tell him about Homer?

But these kinds of superpower heroes, really do we need that?

I think he’s making a good point about the cyclical nature of film (and everything) and the way Westerns died off. It also happened to 80s Action movies, Slasher flicks, and a bunch of other genres. It will eventually happen to the Comic Book franchise movies, too. That doesn’t make them bad movies or bad genres; it

Counterpoint: Top Gun kicked ass, and if there’s one thing you CAN’T fault the Academy for, it’s nominating lots of big mainstream films.

It kicked ass & made people feel feelings. Not every Best Picture nominee needs to be about Filipino rice farmers contemplating death.

It’s a fucking good movie.

Blanchett vs Yeoh is the heavyweight bout.

I call bullshit on this article AVClub. You don’t get to dictate which nepo babies you fet, and which you don’t. Not with the level of sweeping generalizations that are your norm these days.

There were three Marvel movies this year and together they made $2.5 billion. The lowest-grossing of the bunch still ended up with the 8th biggest box office of the year.

Exactly.  Westerns were the huge mass market genre for decades and never went away. They ebb and flow for sure and aren’t as popular as their prime but they still make them.  I’m sure superhero movies will do the same thing.

Sam Barsanti is actually an Alan Partridge-style comedy character. PROVE ME WRONG

Yeah, the idea that these movies will continue to turn a profit being craaazy is hard to understand.

If they start getting lower ticket sales, they’ll lower the budget of subsequent films to suit. Lord knows there’s enough stories that they can pick and choose which ones they can afford to make into films.
