Mom and I were talking about the Queen meeting the Cheeto Benito, and I made the remark that she would insult him to his face and he’d never know it.

As someone who unconsciously starts absorbing the regional accent of wherever I am for longer than a week, I appreciate that there are folks who understand. I’m always so worried people think I’m making fun of them or something but I can’t help it, it just starts happening and I don’t even really notice. 

Her statement irritated me, but also resonated with me in a way:

Why do people always act like irritated leftists have the power to ban or prohibit things? We don’t. We can just say “this is fucked up, we’re not supporting it” and then not buy movie tickets.

I got told the same thing by a white man earlier this week. He is clearly blind as a bat. He’s not an asshole and he absolutely hates Trump.  He also told me “I think you’re exaggerating the evangelical influence on the election.”  Bless his heart.

I am not HR. But speaking as a manager who can make a (pretty) final decision: I would never say “Yes, we are issuing an offer,” until after said offer was issued.

Relax...the reply was cool beyond words. She can’t do squat until HR opens.
