As someone who spends too much time thinking about this, here’s where I’m settling right now:

Oh, sure, when he does it it’s cool, but when my street improv troupe takes suggestions we get arrested.

Yeah, that’s about being coached by your coach or a member of your team, which is why they have to sit in the assigned boxes, some rando whose only known qualification is being able to or knowing someone who’s able to afford front row seats. Otherwise it’s a slippery slope to penalizing someone for hitting an overhand

Anyone else torn between hoping he gets his shit together mentally in order to reach his potential as a player, and worried that if he does we’d miss out on this kind of legitimately quirky but fun stuff from him?

Was at Citi Open for opening round on Tuesday. Watched the full match between Kyrgios and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski (UVA product and de-facto ‘hometown’ kid).

So he can’t dodge a ball then I guess

If you can dodge traffic, you can dodge a ball!

I don’t like the sound of “working through adversity”—in sports that usually means he’s caught an assault charge or two...

I don’t know. That guy you describe is growing on me.

He’s throwing 96 with the crow hop... It’s a nice story and all, but there’s probably a reason he wasn’t drafted before.  Maybe he’s still addicted to getting hit by cars.  Whatever happens, he still has the best arm of any Nathan in Oakland

Yup. Ripping off certain kind of people is good, actually.

Not gonna lie, I lost it at “becoming a rapper”. Live the dream Granny Q.

Neymar’s defense is that he just rolled around in bed with her

One of them makes it look easy because he is blessed with natural athleticism, while the other is a gym rat who succeeds on hustle and grit.

CALL HIM ISHMAEL.

Ah yes, the good old "Well they'll do something else, so we should do nothing".

I’m a boxer and I literally punch people in the face and get punched by people on a weekly basis. If we can be respectful in the ring while literally beating each other up, you can be respectful playing a video game where there are no stakes.

i can only assume the comment section to this article will be much dissembling and equivocating to minimize the results of the survey. us gamers seem incapable of acknowledging the baked-in toxicity of our community.

Because it doesn’t create a fun experience for anyone. I don’t want to micro-manage other people while i’m trying to play a game. It’s one of the main reasons why I don’t play online games anymore.

I really don’t have much sympathy for someone who sees others as less-than or inferior simply because they hold different beliefs. All missionaries are basically out to explain to you how you’re wrong and they’re right.
