I’m not sure where you got the idea that I think Sansa’s plot is for Theon’s trauma? The way that scene is shot focuses on Theon’s trauma. Sansa’s plot (or what we’ve seen of it so far, I guess) is for Sansa.

Saying that Sansa being there is plot motivation for another male character is not exactly helping your case that she’s well-portrayed.

This particular rape never should’ve happened because it made no sense whatsoever in-story to have Sansa marry Ramsay in the first place. Avenge your family by marrying your family’s murderers and thus legitimizing them? In the book, Ramsay married a fake!Arya, and the Northern lords chose to believe that lie. And if…

So they went from fridging a minor character to redeem Theon to fridging one of the protagonists of the show to redeem Theon. How is that any better? Hell, Littlefinger letting Sansa get married to Ramsey in the first place is completely out of character for him mainly because of the fact that he doesn’t know much…

There’s really no comparison between what happens in the book and what happens in the show, and I don’t know why people continue to bring up “But it was worse in the books!” It’s literally an entirely different situation. And also, it doesn’t matter if it was worse in the books...we’re not talking about the books.
