Yeah, it’s good to see the fun side of both Rip and Wally, who are always serious and unhappy respectively. It makes the viewers (including me) like them more than previously. And damn, they sing so well. I can listen to them singing all night!

I agree with this and I’m not sure how we are almost two full seasons into them shagging and no one on the Waverider has brought that up as a possibility

Favorite throwaway line in this episode: Ray, characteristically nicely, encouraging Sara to have a nice date with “that mean lady time agent”

I half-expected him to drug Wally and kidnap/coerce him into something. I was pleasantly surprised when instead he went the direction of “let’s get drunk together!” and then pitch the idea of Wally joining the team.

This was EASILY the most fun Rip has ever been.

Imagine being a 15yr old kid trying to hunt down tangent issues integral to a major Crossover.

The Wally and Rip hijinks were fun all around, but the Careless Whisper karaoke was tremendous.

Mick typing his apparently brilliantly terrible sci-fi romance novel on a typewriter with the one finger hunt and peck method ... is weirdly perfect, as is that he kept the manuscript under a tight security protocol that included bear traps, safe-type encryption, and bank-type exploding blue dye.

Great episode, but weird fake out. You’re a time travel show, you can just do a groundhog day.

That was a great read, thanks. I’ve always been in awe of Mr. Rogers, and that essay really highlights why. It wasn’t an act or a character, the guy was just pure goodness, or as close to it as a person can realistically be.

I think the show might be better served with him as a reoccurring rather than regular. He’s such an intense presence that having him around constantly could really tilt the dynamic. I mean, I’m not saying I hate the idea of a Sarah and Constantine Have Wacky (And Sometimes Sexy) Adventures show, but it wouldn’t be…

I very much welcome the Winter Olympics. Not because I’m gonna watch them, but because the rest of TV essentially takes a vacation, and I can relax a bit from having to catch up with all the shows, and catch up with, um, other shows like Mosaic, Altered Carbon and Electric Dreams.
