My response to all this marketing BS is to say, in the voice of Christopher Walken, “more cowbell.”

“the remaining 35 clocked up an impressive 13,272 miles of self-driving in 2021.”

Past result did not work out so well. This from South Korea in 2011, about 30 miles south of Seoul.

Someone had a similar idea in South Korea. This is outside of Bundang (about 30 miles south of Seoul). The bouncer is intimidating.

Great and inspiring review. I went to the configuration web site and created my version in dark emerald frost, tan aniline interior, manual, of course, black wheels and lugs, and bronze calipers. I think it elegant and appropriate for someone in my age bracket (retired). Only issues are the $100K price tag and the

I’m conflicted about this move. Perhaps as others have suggested, VW develops a more sustainable, small-scale, free-range source. Quantities will be much smaller, but the learning could be shared with others. How to distribute the product is a problem. Perhaps as a reward or sequentially throughout the labor force. It

Many years ago, rented an automatic in Bath, England because driving on the wrong side of the road scared me enough. Upgraded to Audi 100 and wowed everyone during our travels. Rental agent had never seen one. When asked why we rented such a big car, I just told them that they didn’t have anything larger for us

Still own 2004 TL (no type S available when I bought it). It remains a good looking car and not too dated even after all these years. I had cross-shopped this against a 5 series BMW back in the day and couldn’t see why I should have spent 15K more for the BMW. The TL still runs great and has been trouble-free. Hard to

Say what you will, I own cars for a long time. Buy cars when life requires it or something I want comes along (1986 MR2, 2004 Acura TL)

I don’t think Hong Bang Die Casting is a US manufacturer, but I’ve seen enormous numbers of these parts being reworked at a local machine shop for Tesla.

Still driving and enjoying mine as it approaches its 15th year! Happy Independence Day!

In a public forum many years ago I challenged a partner at Silver Lake Partners (tech investment firm with $43B in managed assets) saying there are no mergers, only acquisitions. He agreed.

Bought the '86 MR2 new and kept it for 17 years.  Fun and reliable.  With wing.

Don't forget the $14 billion in stock buy backs to push up share prices.  It wasn't invested.

What is mostly overlooked is that GM spent $14 billion on stock buy back since bankruptcy.   Just imagine the cars, trucks and CUVs that could have been developed.

Back in 1992 Southwall Technologies in Palo Alto, CA released one of the earliest solar control films for laminated auto glass. The company is now part of Eastman. This patented technology expanded on the thin-film technology used to coat plastic film and then suspended between two panes of glass to make the Heat

FIrst and COTD.  Congratulations!

Oh, now I just want to crawl into a hole and disappear. Brought back memories.  We had a 1989 Voyager Turbo Auto (3-speed) in maroon 2-tone with wire wheel covers. No fire, but it was close. Lasted 11 years. We bought it in California new on a rainy day at the end of the month. After the signing, one of the sales

Sometimes it is comforting to know that even people who write for a living forget how to write sometimes, too.
