The real reason for the longer games is commercial breaks in between innings. Each 1/2 inning break is about 2-3 minutes long. That’s about 45-60 minutes of non action guys running in and out of the dugout. Wild idea if they want to really speed things up, play three - 9 out innings. There would be a lot more scoring…
