Why is this comment grey?!

I wish I could give you more than one star.

Right. But then media outlets publishing these pieces and public figures would just be accused of remaining silent and being complicit. And if you have access to a big platform, why wouldn’t you use it? Like I said, I think there’s a lot of bad faith and toxicity in progressive circles. And it’s counterproductive.

My biggest takeaway here isn’t that Kylie’s not a billionaire, and is “only” worth 900 million. It’s the extent to which they lied and covered up and embellished and obfuscated, to fool people into thinking she was. But it worked and she’s not gonna face any consequences for it other than falling in Forbes’ list, and

You were in a domestic violence situation. It sounds more like you didn’t call the cops earlier because you were aware that they wouldn’t treat him the same as a white man, which is fucked up because it ends up making victims of domestic violence feeling like they have to protect the man they need protecting from.

Not unless you want to travel back in time (and to the Netherlands) and make a citizen’s arrest, and even then you’d have to prove they were sexually active before she’d reached the age of consent.

The good faith argument was directed at the author of this piece. And yes, I know you can act in good faith and still be unconsciously racist. That’s not the point. I’m saying you can also be not racist and act in bad faith, which is what I think the author here is doing. She’s basically proving she’s doing exactly

So do you feel that whenever a commencement speech starts with ‘my fellow graduates’, it’s because the graduate speaking is telling the world how different they are from the other graduates?

But haven’t just as many progressives and activists been telling white people that racism is their problem to solve and that white allies have to work on other white people to make them how they’re a part of the problem, and to stop looking to POC to tell them what to do? But when white women tackle it head on and

I guess I’ve heard of these people peripherally but I haven’t had cable in ages but even when I did, I don’t have patience for reality TV except for Project Runway and any fashion competition show. Also, at least those TLC shows are professionally done, most of the YouTube shit from what I’ve seen is pretty bad

It’s probably not illegal but it’s still a shitty thing to do. Even if her nose job is painfully obvious.

Yeah but she had a better doctor than Haley Bieber or Bella Hadid. But not as good as Winona Ryder’s.

I don’t think anyone should have to confirm or deny what they choose to do with their bodies but yeah, when it’s obvious to anyone with even half a working eye that your nose is an obvious ‘nose job’ nose and is half the size of your original one, I’d say it’s best to stay silent and neither confirm or deny. Bella

Thank you. Revolution doesn’t mean what people think it means. As a former History major, that always bugs me.

I’m sure there’s significant overlap between people who condemn the looting (why can’t they protest peacefully?) and also condemned the (100% peaceful) protests by football players who chose to kneel during the national anthem.

I’d never even heard of this show until this article and I thought it was new but it’s been on since 2014?

I don’t even buy that anyone who watches more than 5 minutes is watching ‘ironically’ because it’s not even entertaining trash.

I don’t get it. It’s like vicarious narcissism or something.

The bigger mystery to me is, who watches these videos? Who follows these people and wants to listen to basic people spewing basic shit for 45 minutes, which could be condensed into 2 minutes but they stretch it out foreeeeever to get more $$$$?

I don’t get AGT or its success or why it’s still on TV. And I’m not surprised to hear Simon Cowell smokes on set and acts like an asshole and has Jay Leno on making his usual, casual racist dad jokes. But even if they clean it up and stop doing the most egregious things - indoor smoking, racist jokes - I just don’t
