Dump just announced he’s all for reductions in Medicare. He’s so fucking stupid he’s trying to kill off the old bigot base who adore him prematurely.

I think they could be stans for her because her platform and ideals align with theirs whereas Elizabeth Warrens just... doesn’t?
“Medicare for All ‘takes health care away from people and forces them on a government plan’”
Fuck a John Delaney. If you’re going to use BS Republican talking points against Democrats, go be a fucking Republican. (Note: I have High Hopes I will be making nearly this exact same comment soon when shit ass Pete drops out).
That was my first reaction too, but it’s definitely not something you have to be young and traditionally “hot” to participate in. The “hot” part is a bit tongue in cheek, and many of the posts that contain the most likes are a diverse assortment of human beings. It’s more about celebrating the notion that everyone is…
I have a horrible feeling he will get a second term. We’re fucked. I’ll vote against him of course, but it won’t matter. We only have the appearance of a Democracy now, we go through the motions of the Democratic process, but it’s just to keep us busy and under the impression that we still have a choice. The Impeacheme…
Definitely a cutie!
When I learned about the hashtag #HotGirlsForBernie/#HotBoysForBernie just now my knee-jerk reaction was, “cringe, I hate it.” I was afraid it would be the lefty version of bottle blondes holding semi-automatic weapons and wearing American flag bathing suits with MAGA caps, but then I perused this phenomenon for…
I meant in attitude and how the press covers it. Not in talent or fanbase. The whole “Why do you people even like me” and awkwardness- feels SO KStew. I actually really like Kristen Stewart and have no opinion of Billie Eilish.
You know she’s not the first person or teenager to dress themselves in unconventional clothing to protest the sexualization of their teenage body right?
You know that her “look” is her “look” because she was so traumatized by adult men sexualizing her teenage body that she took to wearing oversized clothes and other ways of covering up/ not showing her real body to protect herself, right?
Y’know what? This is belittling for no good reason. Billie has talked at length about how crazy and potentially unsafe it can be for her to be in public, and also how worried she gets about contestant scrutiny and judgement. So it sounds like she just wants people to be safe and not do stupid shit that she could get…
Only bringing this up because of the Billie Eilish blurb but, if you like her music, she is the artist on this weekend’s Austin City Limits on PBS.
From what I’ve heard, Washington has done away with their caucus this year, but I did it in 2016 for the first time and it was wild. Unlike any political experience I’ve ever had, not in a good way.
This convinced me. Caucusing is stupid, and should be abolished. Just let people vote. Have early voting. Take measures to ensure that the electorate is informed of when and how to vote, and what they’re voting for. It isn’t hard.
It’s not just about people exercising their democratic right. But how are you supposed to feel like a valued part of your community when your caucus site isn’t available?
Look at those hideously uncomfortable steel folding chairs. Do they look senior-friendly to you? When I was young I could sit down in one of those chairs at dusk and debate politics until the crack of dawn. Now it’s an ordeal to sit 30 minutes in a chair like that, but the caucus lasts 3 hours! Caucuses are designed…
There are fewer caucuses this year than ever before, which is a positive step forward. I get that caucuses are probably much cheaper than an actual primary, but they’re an artifact of the early days of “democracy.” A century or two ago, they at least kind of made logistical sense. Today, it’s just another way of…
