You’re going to have a hard time convincing the majority of the public to side with you on that. Until you do, you can take solace in the fact that they are better than what they were.

You did see my reply at 6:16, right?

Tesla is (was?) behind on things like panel gaps and fit and finish, but in terms of the maturity of the powertrain and battery pack, I’m not sure Tesla is any further behind.

Oh, I think Tesla gets pilloried around here for selling good enough. Also GM has been making cars for how long?

If they made a bare bones stripped work truck with a single cab and an 8ft bed coal rollers would still act like dicks. They hate EV’s for their politics more than what the truck actually costs.

I’ll remember that next time I see a King Ranch F-350 that’s never done a day’s work in its life.

Lots of trucks are used as lifestyle accessories, so this fits in perfectly. I’m sure there are business owners who need a real truck *and* can afford to spend an extra $25k on the luxury features for their work truck, but I suspect many of these high end trucks are just commuter appliances to start with.

This seems to be the trend for startup EV’s, they market to the Luxury crowd first to get those extra profits, and then re-invest those profits to be able to afford to make a cheaper model.

But  it remains that EV’s will be viewed as the vehicles of the smug elites.

It sure looks like it will be similarly equipped, if not quite a bit nicer. The interior looks like a very pleasant place to be.

Allow me to quote yourself.

“None of these are cheap, but then again, its a big boy with lots of batteries and a ton of sheet metal.”
Dismissive over the price of one exercise in stupidity because its up your weird little alley

This is a technologically fascinating truck, utterly impressive in almost every way. But

soooo, are you going to condemn GM for their 6 figure Hummer EV, or are you going to keep kissing their asses because that truck is electric?

I love this truck and I do love Jalopnik, I’ve been a follower since 2008.  But for the love of god, can you guys just write automotive articles without predicating them on heated and politically debated topics.  Just providing a hyperlink doesn’t add to any credibility and it takes away from the actual content at

I’m no Tesla fanboy, but JESUS EFFING CHRIST, this “Autopilot isn’t really autopilot hur-dur” shit is exhausting, isn’t it?

I really, truly, believe that everyone that’s continually complaining about ‘Autopilot’ being a deceptive name that misleads people is grossly misjudging the people that buy these cars.

Also, it’s a little weird that fluffy/natural hair is almost never used to give her cloud imagery. Maybe it looks a little on-the-nose in practice? Natural-hawks are possible, right?

JOHNNY: ...because the Grand Cherokee is pretty old at this point. (WAITS)

It’s newer than that. It was one of the final Daimler Chrysler projects and was all new when the WK2 came out in 2011.

No.

No.
