It gets at the essential way that we view terrible behavior. Just like how a person can be a functioning member of their community and have children they aren’t abusing, yet still be abusing one of them. People don’t treat everyone the same way.

My parents are pretty well off, not 1%-er or even close, but they’re in good shape financially. Part of this was a smart move on their part to move out to a small town with low cost of living when they retired.
