I have not commented on the AV Club for several years but I came here to say that I just watched Reptilicus with low expectations and a really open mind and it was awful. Unfunny jokes, weird jarring changes, boring as hell. Looks like most of you disagree and that's great. But wow, that was disappointing.

I just read a Peter David Star Trek novel I found in the teacher's lounge and it was surprisingly good! The Planet Eater one mentioned above.

I thought this episode proved that the creators think its viewers are all a bunch of mouth breathing dolts.

I thought "coochie" would have at least worked better in the subtitles.

TMP on Blu-Ray is the only way to watch it. It's gorgeous, flaws and all. Too bad the blu-rays have such insipid cover art.

I enjoy it this way, too. I sort of think it's fun to watch while pretending the Star Trek universe doesn't even exist. It's just this stately, psychedelic journey into space. Just works for me.

Anyone else think that Indy is himself Mormon or of Mormon background?
- Apparently raised in Utah
- Member of the Boy Scouts
- Father obsessed with ancient Christian texts, translating, etc.

"Sex, Frank?"

He also did those Breath Assure commercials for years when I was a kid. I always just knew him as guy from the Naked Gun movies.

Without having listened to the Serial Serial yet, I just wanted to say that the "diagnosis" thing was a perfect example of how psychology can basically come up with a diagnosis for every single human personality type or trait. I'm sure there are a dozen things I could be diagnosed with, just as everyone else could be.

Short answer: no.

As a Christian and film-lover I was excited to see a historically accurate depiction of Christ's final days. One thing that really bothered me was the depiction of Satan with the CG worm coming out of his nose. I liked Lucifer as just some sort of dark hooded figure. Did we need to add CG worms? Infuriating and took

I think the flat-out stupidness of the opinion outweighs its sheer irrationality.

I went and re-watched The Force Awakens a couple of days ago and the quibbles I had with it the first time went away a little bit. The opening crawl says the First Order arose from the "ashes of the Empire" or something. True, they seem to look and operate a LOT like the old Empire, but if you assume they are some

Found this DVD in a steelbook case at a Dollar Tree in the middle of nowhere in Idaho. Bought it along with "Hey Verne, It's Ernest: The Entire Series" on DVD. Also a dollar. Great haul!

"Hey Obama! Get back to work!!"

As I read the review I was surprised at the use of "nihilism." I'd describe Tarantino's former movies as dark but never nihilistic. Like you said, his universe is one where right and wrong are real things.

I haven't given it much thought but Django Unchained was the first really boring Tarantino movie for me. And I thought that I practically worshiped the guy. I'm definitely one of those people who saw Jackie Brown at 17 and didn't really get it, and now thinks it may be the very best of the Tarantino movies. I may have

Oy to be played by a CG Andy Serkis.

In my mind Jason Patric plays Eddie and you just can't get much more perfect than that.
