Damn this really bums me out, I never read the manga but have tons of fond memories of watching the pink jacket Lupin series and the movies in the early ‘90s. I’ll always have a soft spot for the Italian OP in particular because that’s what I’m most familiar with:

AMC would never run a concept into the ground, years after a show had run out of creative steam.

Or, it’ll take the other AMC route, pioneered by Halt and Catch Fire. Start unwatchable so nobody ever tunes in, then become an amazing show after losing all hopes of every gaining an audience.
