This is the page where you can donate to Collins’ 2020 opponent whoever that ends up being.

I agree with you - I think in Melania’s case here, there is there visual shorthand, but there’s also the ‘stir-the-pot’ goal of getting people riled so they’ll comment like we are, and then others will say ‘Oh, you’re giving her too much credit, it’s just a hat,’ or ‘God, you libs get upset about everything.’

It’s jumped the shark, though. Anything that can be answered with a hashtag is officially old news. The preemptive answers to that question are flooding through common discourse; every woman has a prepared list of responses now; men will no longer be able to claim ignorance. It’s no longer a topic that’s only answered

Ford did not speak for nothing. DO NOT DENIGRATE HER BRAVERY.

It is VERY hard to see right now, but there are some baby steps happening in the right direction.

It wasn’t for naught. My friend watched the hearing last week with tears rolling down her face (as I think many of us did) and it inspired her to tell her story and go to the police. Now she’s working on making sure her abuser doesn’t hurt anyone else. Dr Ford gave her that strength and that is something beautiful.

Calling Collins a feminist is remarkably generous. The only woman she cares about is herself.

You know we were united with #metoo last year as well and yet we had to do it again this year. I don’t see any benefits because the collective will go back to where they were before all of this. We drag our pain, our trauma out for display only to be offered looks of shock until we have to do it again and see those

It may not have stopped the nomination of a monumentally unqualified SCJOTUS, but I think it’s far too early to say that it was for nothing. I think the contrast between her resolute composure and the whiny, exasperated flailing of Blackout Brett is something that’s going to stick in the minds of people for a long

Yeah, Roe v. Wade is settled precedent (until I get on the motherfucking court, you dumb bitch!).

Innocence? This was not a criminal hearing. Fairness? This is not a playground. This was a continuing job interview for a position that requires the absolute best of the best and Kavanaugh has repeatedly showed himself to not be it. If I were accused of sexual assault, and repeatedly lied and lost my temper during a

The entire freakin country was united in #WhyIDidntReport and #MeToo epiphanies, millions of women who never expected to be triggered were triggered, and, in the space of a month, men lost their favorite go-to defense of “why didn’t she report it?”. That’s a LOT of side benefits to Dr. Ford’s ordeal.

Ever since McCain did that whole “you’ll have to wait and see” shit with ACA every bloody Senator seems to want a moment like this. Collins was clearly always going to go for the drunk assaulter as a real Nice GuyTM but she wanted her “moment for the books” on top.

I’m not in her district so I can’t vote her out, but I’m glad you can.  So sick of her and her pretend concern.

Susan Collins should’ve had to make that condescending, trashfire speech to Dr. Ford’s face.

It wasn’t for nothing to me.  It was inspiring.  I hate that she felt like she had to do this, and I hate that she received so much shit for it, and I hate that her life has been upended.  But it wasn’t for nothing to me, and to my fellow assault survivors.

I feel fucking terrible for Dr. Blasey Ford.

In Mogambo, Grace Kelly played the arrogant Englishwoman utterly stuck in a colonialist mentality, and Ava Gardener played the free spirit who had no prejudices and fewer hangups. The costumer (the legendary Helen Rose) telegraphed this visually  (Grace is in a pith helmet, and Ava is wearing a straw picture hat)

You must have missed the part that said “NON-VIABLE PREGNANCY.” You should also read the article from the woman who had to terminate her very much wanted pregnancy because it wasn’t viable. Women are not stupid. No one decides at 32 weeks to just get an abortion.

“At what point is abortion no longer a safe option?” he specifically asked of Jane Doe’s lawyer. As in, “How much longer do I need to keep stalling her until she’s 20 weeks, after which she will be forced to carry the unwanted pregnancy to term?”.
