I think there is very little chance of history looking back fondly on the Obamas. This is because I think that we will cease to exist within the next 4 years. And with humanity gone so is history.

I have a statement I use for situations like this. It doesn’t really help matters, but it feels good to press and leads to some hilarious meltdowns. It reads as follows: “If your only argument is ‘you aren’t being very tolerant of my intolerance’ you have a really shitty argument.”

I was able to reassure them that at least, as long as they are in my classroom, they are safe. And yes, while I don’t know what the future holds for them, I will do everything I can to make sure that they are truly safe. I only wish I could stay with them for the next four years.
