The other major advantage to ranked choice voting is that it gives smaller parties a much better shot. As it stands, a lot of people vote strategically. They may prefer a third-party, but vote for a candidate they don’t like as well in order to keep another candidate out whom they dislike even more out of office. A…
Ranked choice voting should include a “none of the above” choice. If “none of the above” ends up with a majority, then the election is rerun with none of the candidates on the ballot eligible.
Some of them cause disease, but most are bystanders.
a free donut when purchasing a beverage at dunkies is a coupon you can get from them all the time. doesn’t count.
This is how I enjoy running now. I used to incorporate all the fancy stuff, sprints, fartleks ... etc. And although I’ve always loved running, I’m not sure I was exactly ‘enjoying’ it. When I decided that I wanted to go longer for my runs, I realized that faster was definitely not better. And in order to go longer I…
Whenever people are new into running, I always tell them - remember, it’s HARD. Do not go out there and expect to run even half a mile. Those people out there running 10 k’s and making it look effortless have been running for years. Your first few times you’ll make it a block and you will want to put in the towel…
This is basic advice but the key to loving running is to learn to run easy. If you treat every run like a slog or torture session you’re always going to hate it.
And vision insurance. Why are dentists and optometrists special when it comes to insurance?
Yeah I didn’t word that very well. I meant that going to the dentist is not covered by health insurance, which is bullshit.
Beyond the other 7,000 things that annoy me about our health care system - dentistry is separate. WTF? My mouth, my teeth, they aren’t part of the rest of my body? I can get a specialist for my vagina, why not my teeth? It’s fucking insane.
So I’m definitely not in the “I paid mine off so f*ck everybody else” camp, and I’d love to see these people helped, but there’s one thing I don’t understand: is forgiveness just a one-time occurence? So everybody who has student loan debt now essentially wins a birthdate lottery, and future students start building up…
Much younger brother is autistic—- my mother is now an anti-vaxer and my other 3 even younger siblings were never vaccinated and my autistic brother hasn’t gotten a shot since he was 2. She is also refusing to get the Covid Vaccine for herself or children.
I’ve tried to patiently explain things or recommend other…
A few months ago I tried to take up running by jogging 60 seconds, walking 60 seconds, every other day for a week. I had such bad tendonitis that I couldn’t go to dance class and had to take my last Tylenol III. I’ll have to stick to long walks up and down hills, and dancing for cardio.
I got to a sub-60 bpm resting heart rate last year (around 58 to be precise) just walking. Now I walked A LOT about 30,000 to 35,000 steps a day but it wasn’t running. Walking can really help your heart out but if you want to increase the other part of your cardiovascular system namely your lungs, you need to do more…
The latest conspiracy theory about the conspiracy theory I have heard is that this is a massive con by the DoD because public sentiment has finally been turning against the military budget.
5 of those states are on the top 10 most federally dependent states list. Go figure.
So those states will also decline disaster-relief funds too, because, you know... socialism...?
Well, they’re all on my “places I never want to visit, let alone live there” list, is that what you’re referring to?
Trump has already demonstrated that you can do anything to the GOP voting block and STILL keep their vote all to “own the libs”. The death cults continues.
