@phoghat: No, I'm hoping we clean up this planet too. It's just more of an 'eggs in one basket' kind of concern.

@Mathmos: Damn, you got to it just before I did. And everything personal is a spoiler.

What I want to know is when we'll get off this rock - when we'll have a stable self-sustaining colony on another world. Because that can't happen soon enough.

@Sneeje: I've found that it works for a while, but if the cord gets moved around much, it doesn't last as long as I'd like.

@Flail: They have some that are brown or black leather on top, and to the casual eye just look like leather dress shoes. It's not until people look directly at your feet that they catch it. The bare ankles can be a giveaway, but they usually aren't visible if your pants are the right length.

@p.trautfield: I went the 'hack an old router' option. Ended up being about $45 total for the router, took about an hour total to install/setup dd-wrt on it. If you just follow the directions here: [lifehacker.com]

@h4nn4h: Something you can look into (if your company will allow this kind of mod) is an FM modulator - it goes inline with the antenna cable, and allows you to plug anything with a headphone jack in. However, they usually require wiring it into car power and getting into the back of your stereo, so I don't know if

@jazzytay: Get an iPod touch. Most apps for iPhone work on it, and you don't need a data plan. I have that and a dumbphone, and I get along just fine.

@Marand: Yeah, I don't view the whole iPhone 4 thing as Gizmodo's shining moment, and actually don't like the way they handled it. Thus, seeing that at the bottom of each article was pissing me off, too.

@Flail: Got a pair a couple weeks ago for wearing around the office/school, and I'll probably eventually get a pair to run in. Please let us know how you do!

@Flail: Huh, hadn't noticed the 'x' before, thanks! It'd been bugging the heck out of me.

@gullymprictr: Same here. I totally want to have a large collection of random screw sizes, but I don't want a bunch of boxes of screws lying all over the place. Brilliant!

I'm quite happy with my dumbphone. I use it for calls (and rarely texts - just not my style), and also have an ipod touch for all the 'smart' stuff. I don't need the camera (because I already have a real camera), and as others have said, I want a phone that's a phone first.

@darthwilber: I actually ended up getting a pair of those for my day to day shoes - they make a brown leather pair that look nice, such that someone has to actually look at your feet to figure out you're not wearing brown dressy sort of shoes.

Go Navy, Beat Army! (sorry, couldn't resist)

@tasteskindasalty: I've long figured shoe sizes to be black magic, since there isn't a unit attached to them. But as to pants sizes? That's just criminal.

@dlinkwit27: I don't know about dress pants, but for casual stuff (jeans and the like), Carharts makes good stuff, and actually has 30x32 pants. And 31x32. It's awesome.

@Squalor: It's funny 'til you're there ;-)

@dvsDave: (Mostly) Same here - I'm average height, but it's hard for me to find stuff to fit my waist.

@nova20: Exactly. Currently I'm sticking with Carharts pants, because their sizing is pretty standard between their different styles.
