@Bonsai_halcyon: You are my new hero. I'd previously cut up a wire coat hanger to make a little stand thing, but it's a horribly single purpose device, and only takes up room.

@Bonsai_halcyon: It's okay, it's not just you. In fact, it's a lot of people. But you're all still wrong ;-)

@Tyrun: I don't mind having it, but there are two downsides:

@Bonsai_halcyon: It says Conterminous, not Continental. That would put it up in somewhere like Idaho or something. Jeesh. Alaska is on the continent.

@zombies.like.lattés.too: Yeah, I don't like Peeps much either. But you're gonna burn in hell cause you don't like candy hearts. Heathen.

@retrac: I had to explain that to my girlfriend, after like the 20th utterance. And you have to use the almost southern accent, too.

@minealone6: As in, you'll just have the motherboard bolted to your desk? If so, you will have to worry about grounding and such. A case (IANA electrician) basically serves to ground all components to each other (and protect them from static), so you'll have to either have them all on some sort of metal plate or have

@Senethior459: It's funny, it's the way my dad taught me to do it, so it's been around for decades, but I'd never heard of anyone else doing it that way. Spread the good word!

My trick to a perfect grilled cheese sandwich is to brown both sides of the bread - much more crunch that way.

Anyone ever think of doing a tablet that works like the Droid phone, with a slide out keyboard? You'd silence most of the 'omg it doesn't have a keyboard' critics, and it would still have a decent form factor.

@whiteflea: Yeah, but I really like the Boba Fett parts, as it reminds you that it's not just the jedi running around and doing everything, and that they're not the only badasses around.

@sqlfanatic: Because locks for exterior doors are often built much stronger - I doubt most of these tricks would work.

@whiteflea: I haven't read any of her books from that period. I guess they're good, then?

@amcglamry: I assume you're renting skis, so rent them in town, or at a local ski store - not at the slopes. You can find better skis for less in a local store - shop around.

@icecreamman: (not being sarcastic here) Don't have a tv. I've lived without one for most of a year now, and have gotten an amazing amount of stuff done. As to the loss of inertia, is there a way you could pre-make your dinner, and then go to the gym right after eating dinner at work? Or go to the gym after work, and

@Kyle Boyington: For my personal life, it pretty much took a shitty medical diagnosis that I had better things to do in life than worry about things I couldn't do anything about. I'm working on my girlfriend bit by bit (she can't seem to turn off the 'must get things done' mentality), but it's hard.

@bradL: I just got a Pentax Optio W80, which I like, which as the benifit of being waterproof. I also use a Canon powershot something or other at work, which is fairly nice.

@adumbguy: Make larger amounts of stuff, and freeze it (well labeled and packaged) so that you have options for stuff to eat, and don't feel like you have to order out or make something new every night.

@skittlzncombos: I'd see if you could find a good wine/liquor store in your area. Most are there just to sell beer and the hard stuff, but look for a large place that has at least twice as much wine as anything else. Chances are they'll have someone there to answer questions about what they have, and what it will go

@geiko: I've heard that some community colleges have conversational language classes, where you pretty much just talk to each other.
