@Coriolis: That would be the best argument I've heard for inductive charging/wireless syncing yet. As in, that's brilliant, and they damn well better already be working on something like that. It would make waterproof gadget design a whole lot easier, for one. Making a iphone waterproof from the day it comes from the

@Jafuah: Thankfully, I already have the boots, and the poles (but they're easier).

@Jafuah: I have been thinking about that too, as I could do just fine on a pair of used skis and probably not tell the difference. Any best time of year for used skis? Maybe at the beginning of the season, when everyone is trying to unload their current gear to buy new stuff?

Anybody know what the best time of year is to buy downhill skis? I'm looking at getting a pair, but odn't want to get fleeced. I'm not in a hurry, and not looking for especially fancy skis either.

@briancolmery: If you read gizmodo, they did a piece yesterday on a decent cheap laptop that you could build for about that amount, if you're willing to build one.

@PhpMyCoder: You don't mention if netbooks are in the running, so I'll add my two cents.

@Phoshi: I'm pretty sure it's Friday somewhere in the world, so it's good enough for me!

@Buster Friendly: Congrats! Certainly is better than nothing, and it will look better than being out of a job for this period until your prospect possibly pans out.

@Tsylord: As far as larger purchases go, I research the $hit out of them, so I know if what I'm getting is a good deal. My girlfriend also helps with this, as I know it won't help me out if I come home with something ridiculous. However, I do have a problem with the small stuff. I guess my recommendation (that I need

@luckybob343: What I did for my parents is this: Had gmail access their email through pop, and then had outlook express get to their email through imap. Works like a charm - the reason I set this up for them is that they travel with a laptop a lot, and it was very confusing trying to sync the email back up when they

@nycrite: It will be different, and I guess my advice as someone who's gone from dealing with large organizations to dealing with smaller ones is to just get off yer rear and go talk to people. You get points across that much easier, and you'll get to know people a lot more. And you'll get more exercise. #openthread

And how long will it take someone to crack the drm? #movies

@utkhexon: It's that bananas release much more of it - you can actually use bananas to ripen other fruit faster. For example, if your tomatoes aren't quite ripened by the time they're threatened by frost, you can pull them off, and place them in a bag with some bananas, and they'll ripen over the course of ~ 1 week.

I don't want to know what that would do to my meticulously polished shoes, but I guess I'm not the guy this post is intended for. #foodhacks
