So you support TPP?
So you support TPP?
JFC are you really equating Bernie or Bust protesters to Martin Luther King??? Have some perspective!!
...has chosen to perpetuate a narrative dreamed up by the Clinton campaign and glommed on to by the media that put identity politics (and HRC’s personal victory which is supposed to stand it as an achievement for all women?) above the legitimate needs of the most vulnerable among us (including poor and working women).
For what it’s worth, don’t you think that the DNC itself was inclusive of Sanders and his supporters? The platform has moved left on substantial issues, Obama and others speakers praised Sanders’ supporters for their energy and hard work, and the protesters were able to make themselves very clear - I’m sure many were…
So usually I think this kind of pageantry is ridiculous in politics but this time, this year, for SO MANY reasons, the DNC absolutely deserved to be the gushing love fest that it was by the end.
Agreed. And... well... I might be the black sheep here, but I also feel a bit conflicted about repealing Hyde because it seems like the one olive branch we can extend to those who really, truly think that abortion is murder. I might think that view is ridiculous but some of my best friends feel this way and who am I…
Hm, I doubt conservative ideology is going away anytime soon.
With or without Kaine’s support, this struck me as a tall order the first time Hillary announced she wanted it repealed. Thoughts from anyone who knows more about this than I do?
You should not forget about Pence! He’s extremely conservative and he would be Trump’s version of Cheney (i.e. the person who dictates actual policy).
True, you’re probably right. It’s so strange to me though how anyone doesn’t take climate change seriously. It’s not a fringe environmentalist issue - it’s a very real threat to our economy. At some point centrists need to start making that point.
I mentioned this in another comment - agree with you, but I wish he had talked more about climate change. I work for an environmental think tank and have spent most of my time in their climate department, and everyone really respects Bloomberg for the excellent work he’s doing in getting financial institutions to take…
These speeches have been on point, both individually and as a series. Each headliner has a unique speaking style and perspective, and put together they’ve painted a really rich picture of what the Dems stand for this election cycle. A+ work.
YOU KNOW WHAT? Conservatives just lost their right to bash Hillary for her email server. Their candidate just encouraged a foreign power to commit espionage against our former Secretary of State. GAME OVER, WE WIN THIS ROUND.
Exactly. It came across as “I know you want your petty little women’s victory but get over it.” Fucking prick.
He didn’t just say “be quiet”! He said, “be quiet, I know you’re trying to save her” in a shockingly patronizing way. God, he’s such a dick!
That’s the most logical explanation I’ve heard yet!
Totally agree with you - that frustrates the hell out of me. Criticism without ideas for improvement is useless.
Thanks for the tip!
