While I agree with you, the episodes listed are still really good stuff which you could enjoy watching anyway.

This article also forgot Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, with Namor and the entire nation of Talokan.

I think the worst thing about the Star Wars Marvel comics is that they’re all supposed to take place in between the events of the Original Trilogy. I feel like if they wanted to do a big ongoing series featuring the OT heroes, they should have gone for the New Republic era, but Lucasfilm wouldn’t let them. They’d have

“CW Powerpuff Girls screenwriter Diablo Cody” (yes, Juno and Jennifer’s Body kick ass, but still funny to point out)

Spock has gone rogue and commandeered the Enterprise and taken it into disputed space, risking a war? Man, you’d think that he’d done this before would have come up in his later trial for doing exactly this!

There’s a fantastic article in the New Yorker by Ted Chiang called “ChatGPT is a Blurry JPEG of the Web” that I think explains the distinction (although he does leave it an open question somewhat). It helps to think of ChatGPT not as something that is generating new material in imitation of what it has been trained

Gen Z also doesn’t drink as much. This is demonstrably true statistically, and is also true anecdotally in my experience. (I only mention the latter because it it shows my experience matches the demographic trends.)

I wanna see someone do a deep dive on this show, since it seems to be huge with evangelicals. If they’re a big part of right-wing politics in the United States right now, then it seems like there should be more analysis of the current dominant evangelical pop culture depiction of Jesus. I only ever hear Christians

The country referenced in the indictment is also definitely Iran, not North Korea.

“Maybe the poison drips through”

I think there’s a story to be written here about removing Runaways and Willow - two heavily queer genre shows - right before Pride month. Of all the tent pole Marvel and Lucasfilm shows so far, I believe Willow is the only one to center an LGBTQ+ relationship so far. And then they do this in part to stop paying

Yeah, it’s one of the weird details they dropped to make the High Republic era different from the prequels - they’re explorers in a peaceful but much rougher galaxy! But it’s weird because it immediately makes it harder to do KOTOR which fans want to see so much and which has been referenced a ton. The current

I know someone that knows someone that was involved with the show. They’re also (at least some of them) MAGA fascists, but don’t tell that to the show’s audience.

There’s even a whole documentary about it!

My impression is that this movie would be a Golden Age Superman movie with Clark Kent, except for the significant addition that Golden Age Clark is now black, rather than a Val Zod or Calvin Ellis movie. Classic 1939 Superman, who leaps tall buildings with a single bound and fights slum lords.

I don’t think you’re totally wrong, and I wasn’t endorsing using it as a crutch for bad writing. I imagine that even good writers get blocked occasionally. I wasn’t even suggesting its use in a final draft. But I imagine a situation where someone could use it to throw a few different possibilities around a problem to

I think using AI as a tool is totally fine, as long as there’s actually a human working on the movie. It’s not all good or all bad. Obviously an AI alone is going to produce a generic product that lacks the soul of what actual human writers would create, and obviously its overuse would absolutely destroy the industry.

It was not one of the original core complaints but has been lightly thrown in there last minute. They probably need another full strike to deal with it, imo.

I think they need to strike now before those AIs get even better, to protect the future of the industry.

Yeah, debating whether a 1st century BC Greek would be considered “white” by the standards of the 21st century is utterly pointless. The social systems you’re talking about didn’t exist then, or were different.
