I played HC in D2 for a long time as well, but I don't think I could stomach it in D3 because of how unfair the enemy mods are (Vortext into 3 frozen explosions or 2 arcane sentrys gg) and also because leveling takes way too long in D3 when compared to D2. I couldn't stomach re-creating characters over and over when

Everything can be reduced to something absurd. Whether it's shuffling numbers on a spreadsheet, clicking buttons on a gamepad, or pressing keys on a keyboard.

I completely disagree. Read the entire study. Very little of the difference in earnings between men and women was due to demographic differences. The majority was due to work patterns and other work related differences.

Sorry but you don't get to cherry pick single quotes from the middle of the study, while disregarding the conclusion.

How does this make magic finding harder?

I love / Hate the current system. I liked the system in Diablo 2, and I liked making more and more characters. But I like the system Diablo 3 has in Diablo 3. I actually don't think I would enjoy playing through the entire game more often.

Diablo 2's randomization wasn't THAT good. Anyone who played it more than a little could predict things pretty easily as well. And even then, more often than not people played in the non-randomized or linear places (the Pit, Chaos Sanctuary, WSK4, or Telemeph).

True. I think people that complain about the "repetitiveness" of the game have a weird framing going on. To me, it's not repetitive because I change up my build and/or character all the time. Yeah, always killing monsters/demons in the same areas. But my WW/CM wiz is dramatically different from my CA-Shooting

Here's to hoping some sort of endless/random endgame thing makes it into the game. I don't really think it needs it, personally, but I can't see the harm!

I'm in a similar boat. I like the game, acknowledge its problems, and I think the improvements will generally improve the game.

The game isn't THAT easy, it's still really easy to die, and an extra 600 stats isn't going to trivialize the game to the point that anyone can meat shield anything. It's basically just like getting 1 more item, and that's after how many hours of play we don't even know...

It can be rectified by individual women. Look at the studies. Hell, look at the GAO report cited in this article. They come to the conclusion that the reason the gender wage gap exists is because of the choices women make in general. The study notes there is no conclusive evidence on whether these decisions made

No, I didn't miss the point. It isn't a stereotype. The only assumption is that SOME WOMEN want the option to work more flexible hours, which is a fine and reasonable assumption to make. And frankly, I think it's very healthy that women have the option to choose less demanding hours, and I wish it was not as

It doesn't prove the oppression of an entire gender, but it's an example of oppression that negatively affects men. Yes, clearly, lung cancer is probably the worst, most lethal cancer and it gets the least funding. But breast v. prostate cancer is interesting because historically they have seen similar levels of

But women have that option, and a lot of women would like to have that option, wouldn't you agree? And if women have that option, and are willing to make that choice, it's going to make it look like there's a pay gap.

They didn't control for the variables in terms hours worked. In fact, the study sited by Ms. Baker does not support her argument (not to mention the link leads only to a fact sheet rather than a study).

Wait, really? Prostate cancer get's roughly 1/4 of the funding that breast cancer gets, but has a higher mortality rate, and higher incidence rate, and both of those are pushed down by the fact that male mortality is higher before they reach 65. You don't think that's an example of gender based oppression?

The Gender policing is probably even worse, though.

What I mean by "worthless" is objective worth on the auction house. Even with gold DRAMATICALLY inflated, flawless square gems have almost no value. The entire value of gems is in their combine cost, which is what I mean by gems having no value.

That wasn't the only thing that drove the endgame. D2 had 2 core aspects that differed: 1) a level cap of 99, 2) actually usable loot that dropped, 3) you were encouraged to play through the game multiple times.
