Not As Honey As It Used To Be
Not As Honey As It Used To Be
That he was wrong then and is wronger now?
I've got no idea what you're talking about, sorry.
The weather has worsened since the beginning of the books, so perhaps that's why it looks like it couldn't support so many people. There's zero indication that North of the wall = the arctic circle either in the books or the show.
Also, moaning that Jon is the "hero" as if that's some weirdly old-fashioned idea is a bit much. 8 episodes of rape, murder, misery, women being treated like garbage, and we get one fairly unambiguously "good" guy. Seems fair enough to me, really.
If Jon is rescued by Stannis in this episode, then it makes him appear weaker - the whole point of this episode is to show his tactical skill, show he can cope with command and to show he's a bit of a badass too (along with all the cool fighting, of course). Also, Stannis doesn't turn up at this point in the books.
I think it's lovely, and is definitely worth watching.
How much book should telling us that, which you summed up in a line, have taken GRRM?
There's not really much point. Why not watch the show instead?
He debuted this character as part of a show called "Rubbernecker", many years ago, should you wish to read about it.
As you've never seen the show, I'm not really surprised.
It's perhaps one of the worst shows I've ever seen - it's two series of Gervais attempting to save face from when he used "mong" as an insult on Twitter, and mocked Susan Boyle (and others) for being ugly and stupid. He does a bit about a proto-Derek in his standup, and his disdain for that sort of person is obvious.
Actually, that makes a lot of sense. The original comic is such a great story.
Don't they jump back into their own younger bodies? Rogue wasn't alive in 1973, she couldn't have done it.
You're right, I forgot about that.
Having recently rewatched season 21, it's not that bad. By about episode 8 everyone was clearly aware that Ferrell was the best cast member since Murphy, and he carried the back half of the season.
It wasn't the only anti-Eddie Murphy joke from the late 90s (although that's the one he's been quoted as particularly hating). They had the occasional dig at him when his films sucked - a lot less of a dig than he deserved, too.
And Murphy (unless you count the time he hosted while still in the cast).
I don't see this as a gender thing at all. She's just not funny. The worst thing is, whenever I've watched her show she doesn't seem to care, like she's constantly thinking of whether she left the iron on at home and can't concentrate on the show.
Dear people in charge of TV and films - me and @disqus_oeyjrDHNIX:disqus are guaranteed first weekend customers if you put Spiridakos in tight pants in your movie or TV show.
