Even Greater Mistakes: The G/O Media Story
Sigh. Alright, that’s another book I need to buy now.
Exactly, everything they’re saying about this film is basically verbatim what they said about Natural Born Killers before it, and A Clockwork Orange before that, and so on back into infinity.
Perhaps it’s because Phoenix stupidly walked out of an interview after being asked a question he should have just answered politely.
I agree with you 100%. While I am sure WB initially relished their movie being seen as dangerous, the media hyping this movie's ability to radicalize people is both dumb, and makes is exceedingly more likely someone will now cite this movie as inspiration.
Time to make sure every streaming service and retailer pulls every copy of American History X and Falling Down if “white guy doing violent things” is the bar for problematic movies.
Hell, better cancel that latest Rambo movie as well.
“people´s actual concerns” = what their media of choice, in their endless quest for clicks, have told them they should be concerned about.
The reaction to this movie is insane, and considering it hasn´t been released, and so far the only people who have seen it and talked about it is selected members of the cultural…

Angry, involuntarily celibate men that blamed women who wouldn’t sleep with them for all of their problems weren’t really a thing in 1999? I remember that year a little differently.
My problem is that most of the discussions have been among people who haven’t seen the movie. I simply don’t think you can have a meaningful discussion about a film if you haven’t seen it, especially about a topic like this. The discussion right now is basically, “This movie is irresponsible” vs “lol it’s just a movie…
Jesus Christ, I cant wait for this movie to come out so it can go away and knock off with all this manufactured drama.
Like I said, WB probably feels this is unprecedented. A few hundred people have seen this movie. This is fearmongering.
“Variety’s Editor in Chief Claudia Eller reacted to the news by writing, ‘Are you kidding me?? Is this unprecedented???’”
Schrodinger’s asshole
ALSO: she manages to both deny and prove the existence of white supremacy in one appearance. That’s why they love her.
For some reason, Owens was invited by Republicans...
