Are you seriously trying to argue that we shouldn’t limit the ability of children to drive motor vehicles on public roads? I would argue you should have a driver’s license to use a golf cart on the street, but at least a permit is something.

Not only don’t they have seatbelts, the worst part IMO is no doors and likely a jump seat on the back with zero protection.

Well, I mean it would make sense. How else are those kids gonna “stand your ground” and defend themselves when that lifted Super Duty brodozer bears down on them after they fail to check for oncoming traffic when pulling out onto the road. I FEARED FOR MY LIFE! MURICA!

It means you’re at least the minimum age that the state deems fit to operate a vehicle on public roads, and that you likely had some driver’s education to go along with it.

Time to answer the age old question. If a Floridian child gets rolled over by a golf cart, does it make a sound?

Lots of those beach retirement community towns are invariably built out of four-lane divided roads that connect individual country clubs to one another. If people want to drive golf carts behind the gates of their particular country club, that’s fine, as those are private roads. But outside, it’s just asking for

No but it does make you at least 15, which is better than middle schoolers driving around.

Now if only they would put an upper age restrictions on golf carts in Florida.

Now playing

What this basically means is kids can’t just drive their parents’ golf carts on public roads anymore – something that was a pretty normal occurrence until this point.

Well, it’s Florida. So if you or your kid do need medical attention from a golf cart related (or any) incident, a medical professional can legally refuse to treat you if they have a conscience-based objection to your existence.

Having seen the wreckage of a golf cart (and it’s unfortunate occupants) crossing a road from one private drive to another and being t-boned by a car: this is largely a law we need to protect ourselves from our younger selves.

And, all while high on Oxy!!!

My question is, why the hell are golf carts legal on public roads at all? They’re unable to keep up with traffic and wildly unsafe in an accident.  I can’t imagine what would happen if one got hit by an F150 or the like.

I just got back from Miami and the Keys - and my observation after 5 days in that part of Florida is that laws don’t appear to apply at all to middle-aged white people.

So many of those kids have dads with $100k+ lifted trucks that have never been off-road and moms that think they can do no wrong. I expect them to move to Texas next after this latest assault on their freedumbs.

Can they drive them while in drag ?

Yeahhh good on them for requiring it.

I got two sets of Hankooks (one for each of my wife and my cars)and was a bit disappointed. They seemed to lose grip pretty quickly. Not the greatest comparison since I do winter/summer swaps so they get used over more time than most tires even though miles stay lower. But maybe the ones I got just weren’t their best

Despite his crimes, the man had decent taste in cars”

You’re leaving out a lot. Mainly that they built a car based on a set of rules that was changed arbitrarily by the FIA after they were deep into development (using another powertrain, even, and with support of a major manufacturer). Not having enough money to switch they were still there for the beginning of Hypercar
