I used to work at one of the 2 top game publishers and we did lots of ports. I have absolutely no idea how this could have been approved unless the wrong build was sent to release.

Personally, Lost Planet 2 gave me some of my favorite multiplayer experiences. And even though I will always hold the first one near and dear to my heart, I actually preferred the very minimal/gung-ho story in 2 over the really cheesy/anime one from 1.
