Older athletes, with more miles on the body, are just more susceptible to injury. I’d be fine if Fed skipped Miami and played maybe one or two clay court tournaments. He obviously has a great shot at Wimbledon, but not if he gets hurt...

That was as good as Roger can play, imo. Nadal has had a great start to the year, but in his own words he didn’t play very well against Roger this time.
Maybe I’m completely wrong, but I really feel that 2017 is a strange year in tennis. We have the Big 4, not at their historical best but still excellent. Their contemporaries (the French players like Monfils, Wawrinka, Del Potro) all are on tour swinging away and arguably as hungry as anyone, for various reasons.
Somebody make a soundtrack vid to Coldplay’s “Yellow.”
Don’t know if Wikipedia is reliable this time, but:
Did the NYTimes ever have a good roster of opinion writers? Serious question.
Ryan Adams will always be the guy who broke up a good band called Whiskeytown.
Was this some kind of reverse jinx? Cilic won the final set 6-2.
Guess what, our comments are not going to settle what this one guy meant when he said something ambiguous.
This was the most eyebrow-raising result of the night. I think she’s going to win the whole thing.
He lost the last set 10-8. Sure, his level dipped in the third set (when he prolly thought it was in the bag) but he fought tough at the end. I think the criticism is unwarranted, frankly.
I would never pirate music because I have a lot of respect for musicians and want to do what I can so they can support themselves by doing what they love.
Judith Miller applauds your reasoning.
This article is bad. At the time of the injury, the announcers spoke with certitude that this was a leg/knee problem. We all saw the tears as coming from a guy worried he would never run the same.
But would the same study done with taxi companies have any different results? I legit do not know, and I would be interested in finding out.
I’ve always enjoyed Cara Buckley’s writing. Will check this out, for sure.
I liked all the coaching faces made by Carroll and Arians. Such drama queens, especially Carroll. Hopefully someone will make a supercut of their reactions to the all the missed field goals and post it on YouTube.
Haven’t read the profile, though I hope to. Legal question: Does the prohibition against “double jeopardy” mean that one of the officers in the van/at the scene can now step forward and say what really happened without being prosecuted?
Alex Zverev beat U.S. Open champ Stan Wawrinka to win a tournament Sunday. He’s younger (19) and, while ranked at No. 24, seen by most to have a higher ceiling than Pouille.
You’re the second critic (that I know of) to make this comparison:
