well, my point is, why bother? Rousey has a good enough takedown game, so why kick? Why would she give Floyd any possibilities? Shoot and take down, that all she needs to do, so why bother kicking?

Agree. Rousey just have to keep shooting for singles or doubles and cover her head. Eventually she'll get Floyd down and just armbar. Floyd is a counterpuncher anyway, so eating a few shots shouldn't hurt Rousey too badly.
