The more I read about this, the more disgusted I am at Woody Allen. He's a predator, I feel like its so obvious. I'm happy that pretty much all the comments on Jezebel agree with that.

I don't even understand why Rowan's parentage was even brought into his letter. There were many, many awful moments in this whole thing he wrote, but that part was the biggest WAT moment I had as I read it.
And passing the lie detector test is pretty much irrelevant, anyway, since he'd likely only fail it if he felt he'd done something wrong—which many abusers don't.
Nice article, Mark. You're a great addition.
I really recommend reading the judge's findings in the Allen/Farrow custody case (linked in Maureen Orth's fact-checking article). Allen had been in therapy regarding his inappropriate behavior with Dylan - before the abuse allegation or Mia finding out about Allen and Soon-Yi. The psychologist refers to it as not…
You have summed up perfectly what a genuine reaction of an innocent person would look like.
Only the arrogance of a gaslighting abuser... YES. A thousand times, a million times YES.
HIS HAIR WAS FOUND THERE? Seriously, if he knows there is actual evidence against that claim, why is he bringing up old lies?
I just wrote something similar a second ago. And not only would they defend themselves; the very idea of them molesting their child would be so appalling, disgusting and horrifying to them that their reaction to these accusations certainly wouldn't be "I didn't give it a second thought" and "it's ludicrous". How is…
Exactly. This article nails it too: http://thenewinquiry.com/blogs/zunguzun…:
So, now can we all agree that this man abused his daughter? No, not the daughter he married, the other daughter.
EXACTLY. If a child accused you of sexual assault and you didn't do it, wouldn't your first reactions be 1. Extreme worry for the child's mental, emotional, and physical health. 2. Assumption that she must be being sexually assaulted by someone and wanting to find out who?
I don't think very many rich white men accused of sexual abuse lose their jobs or have to move. Low income accused, maybe, but not the Mr. Entitlements of the world. At least not that I've seen.
I found his statement about Ronan truly bizarre:
Yeah, when you're trying to convince people you're not a child predator, you probably shouldn't remind people about the fact that you married your ex-girlfriend's 19 year old daughter (who was over 30 years younger than you.)
...I found the idea so ludicrous I didn't give it a second thought.
His response sounds palpably bitchy to me.
I thought how seriously tone deaf could this man and his team of lawyers be until I remembered that he is used to getting away with this kind of thing.
I dunno, Roman Polanski's done okay.
"when I was in the blissful early stages of a happy new relationship with the woman I'd go on to marry"—UGHHH, Woody, given how fucked up that relationship was, I can't believe it is being used as a defense against the possibility of another horrible relationship. His obliviousness (among many other things) offends me.
This blog post makes the point we all need to hear:
