Semi-related, this makes me think of an MTV show back in the day where young adults wanted plastic surgery to look like various celebrities, and it was a fucking shit-show.  Instead of playing into unrealistic expectations, the process and inevitably disappointing end results were on display for all to see.  

Obviously Jennifer Gray was one of the earliest cases, followed by Zellweger. A more recent example is Eliza Dushku, who had a distinctive nose that in no way made her less attractive. Now she looks like any interchangeable Hollywood face.

I’m with you. Every generation has a few specific people that everyone else is aspiring to look like. Fine. Trends are always going to come and go.

But looking at these young people now... It appears they’re all trying to become a cross between a blow up doll and an alien.

I imagine it’s not a great feeling inside to know and understand that the way you looked when you were born wasn’t even close to being enough for your success and for people to want you.

I think that ones of the main reasons that Renee Zellweger change got such a response. It was SO different and so...not what hollywood would see as an improvement.

I’m all for it if it makes you happy..I had a facelift 19 years ago and I loved it and got a lot of mileage out of it. It was a very natural looking job done by Dr Dan Baker in NYC. I was about fifty at the time and I got to be thirty eight again, which was lots of fun.

For me the thing that is always jarring is when the new face is both 1) very different and 2) doesn’t seem like an an improvement by Hollywood beauty standards.
