Just look at how the media treated the Elliott Rodger shooting — all the attention was on the 2 white female victims, yet 3 out of the 6 victims were Asian men and they died horribly. Weihan Wang was stabbed 15 times, Chen Yuan Hong was stabbed 25…

First of all get your Asians straight -- that ad was made by a CHINESE company, not Japanese. Secondly the preference for light skin has to do with class not race.

Can we talk about anti-Asianness within the black community:

Are those masks trustworthy, though? I read somewhere that Dollarama were selling counterfeit masks. I really wish this wasn’t the case b/c I saw some N95's on their website -- they appear to have all the correct markings but I just can’t bring myself to trust them.

You want more government ridiculousness? I just learned Quebec birth certificates issued before 1994 can’t be used to validate your ID and don’t even get me started on the nightmare that awaits you if you need to get a citizenship certificate. So. Many. Forms.

Sadly you can only renew the OHIP card if you have a driver’s license. For some reason you can’t use the Photo Card, which is stupid. Shouldn’t that thing take the place of a license ?

They sort of have the same texture but you can definitely tell there’s something “off” about them. Personally I would use rutabaga in a soup or stew where it can hide among other ingredients.

If you don’t mind the smell of sweat socks, you can always try mashed rutabaga. They have less than half the carbs of regular white potatoes and fewer calories too.

Just a friendly reminder to my fellow Ontarians — if you haven’t done so already, renew all your cards (driver’s license, OHIP, etc)! The deadline is Feb 28, 2022. There is no penalty if your card expired in 2020 or 2021 like mine did.

I don’t know if anyone else has suggested this but what if all the commenters orchestrated a strike to protest the Kinja situation? We pick a day and for every article, we only reply with “Fix Kinja Now!” Do this across all the blogs and maybe they’ll get the drift.
