I know everyone here hates Reddit, but I discovered a cure for my constantly dry skin on one of their subReddits — oil cleansing! Basically what you do is use an oil like grapeseed, safflower, sunflower or hemp, and cleanse your face with it, as you would with regular soap. Then you take a face cloth, hold it under…
Why can’t they coat windshields with that anti-reflective stuff they use on eyeglasses? I don’t know about anyone else but most of the time I can’t see past the glare on car windows.
This is my tried and true method for moldy black grout: mix 3 parts water to 1 part bleach. Take some toilet paper, roll it up lengthwise, dip it in the bleach-water solution, then press it against the grout. Leave over night.
As an Asian and feminist, men like your ex make me want to scream. I’m not familiar with all Asian customs, but in my particular culture, deference is a two way street. Sure wives are supposed to look after their husbands, but guess what, husbands are supposed to REPAY that favour. Not only that, kids are supposed to…
Not to mention the annual Highland Games and the St. Patrick’s day parade. French Canadians were also allowed to keep their language and culture, but the Indigenous ppl who were here for centuries -- yeah let’s force them to live like the colonists.
Hey thanks! I think Canada missed a big chance by really condemning anti-Muslim hate by not sentencing Alexandre Bissonette to 6 consecutive life sentences, instead he got 40 years, which no doubt is a hefty sentence, but not when you compare it to the 75 year sentence given to Justin Bourque who killed 3 (white)…
So I was listening to this CBC call-in show about the NZ shooting. The show featured a guest, Sabreena Siddiqui, an expert on anti-Muslim and anti-immigration hate. Most of the callers were sympathetic but two callers really stuck out. Not surprisingly, both were old white guys.
If they are black ants I think I might have the solution for you. Take a plastic container (about the size of those Philadelphia cream cheese tubs), mix equal parts sugar and borax and fill half the tub. Add just enough water so that it gets liquidy but not too liquidy, put a glob of peanut butter in the center. The…
That’s one of my favorite Treehouse episodes too
Thanks for all the great responses, everyone!
Not sure if anyone has ever done this topic b/4, but tell me the story behind your screen name and profile pic. My pic is simply a doodle (for some reason I like drawing cats even though I’m more of a dog person) and my name is from a Patton Oswalt joke about a KFC dish.
You want freaky? I used to live on a street where a guy killed his entire family (he also killed himself).
More old timey stuff: if you’re into vintage mugshots, check out Small Town Noir. The site has good quality photos and a short description of the person’s crimes.
So does anyone else like to peruse old newspaper articles? I found this one paper, The Colored American (which no surprise, was a paper for African Americans) it’s a good resource if you want to learn about what life was like for blacks in America 100+ years ago. I read this one article about a fundraiser for the…
He reminds me of that super creepy character, Ronald Meltzer from the season 1 episode of Angel, entitled “I fall to Pieces.”
Typical white American. She goes to another country and thinks the locals are the foreigners.
Question for my fellow Canadians:
I’m a little sick of the finger wagging from these teen/tween environmental activists. Guess what else contributes to climate change — the internet! It takes about 70 billion kilowatt hours to run the net in America alone. Are any of these kids ready to give up their computers, video games and cell phones? Highly…
De Niro and Pacino have sort of become a parody of themselves and it’s nice to see them in (earlier) roles where you can clearly see their emerging talent. I’m steeling myself for Godfather 3 which I hear is awful.
