Here’s my experience with braces. I should mention that my teeth were VERY crooked so straightening them might’ve been more painful than usual.

Would getting your teeth capped be an option? I had braces from grade 8 to 12 and let me tell you it was the worst pain in my life! I’ve been hit by a car and getting my braces tightened was MORE painful.

I don’t know what the stats are in your neck of the woods, but in Canada, 60% of Natives live OFF reserve. They live in big urban populations, just like everybody else. Integration isn’t the problem, it’s superior and colonialist attitudes of white Canadians.
