Exactly - saying ‘Hey, the original had 4 men, let’s remake/boot it with 4 women!’ is entirely gimmicky. You can’t even argue it’s about gender equality because that would mean 2 men, 2 women. If the original was gender biased then this is equally gender biased.

Yeah, if it’s a bad movie misogynists are going to make the connection between ‘bad movie’ and ‘women’ to reinforce their idea that women = bad, as opposed to it just being a coincidence that it stars women and happens to be bad, and notwithstanding the overwhelming number of bad movies that star men.

Probably. It’s very rare that I go to the cinema and see only one movie listed.

It’s not an informal version, it’s a different word. Addicting is a verb, addictive is an adjective. You could say ‘I’m addicting myself to Hearts of Iron IV’, but in the context of saying something is something you’re using an adjective, in which case the correct form is addictive.

*Addictive.

One Brit surrenders, leaving the American still surrounded by 3 other Brits and a German.

Like how the Wii U is natively capable of playing GameCube games (it being an upgraded Wii, which was an upgraded GameCube, so they’re all the same system architecture), but it just doesn’t, because Nintendo. Fortunately we have Nintendont - homebrew that enables GameCube games running from ISOs - but we shouldn’t

You don’t need to work on that at all - it’s a perfectly valid cause of frustration!

I don’t think the email notifications work very well during a large sale when probably everything on your wishlist is on sale. I usually get an email with a game or two once or twice a week, for weekend and weekday deals, but since the summer sale started, nothing.

Is it? Are you British? I’m British and I’ve never heard it. We say ‘shit show’ just like anyone else, although possibly in this case it’s not a typo and he did actually mean to use a shower that sprays shit instead of water as an analogy for the UK without the EU.

I’m not sure it’s a typo. I know the expression is ‘shit show’ but I think in this instance he’s talking about an actual shower that sprays shit that is currently broken and we have to try to make it work, even if it means getting covered in shit. Okay, it’s probably a typo...

It’s astonishing how many people don’t get that. I mean I know he’s a presenter, not an actor, but he’s playing a character all the same, even if that character is a larger than life version of himself.

Having one person introduce the other person from an autocue, when clearly neither are used to working with autocues, is the most painful thing on TV.

I thought that at first but, when watching last week’s episode (with the chefs), I realised that her delivery is only off when she’s clearly been given something scripted to say - like there was a noticeable difference in one segment when it cut from her speaking in a live recorded segment (which was fine) to her

I’d like to think that’s how I would react in those situations but, fortunately, I’ve never had cause to find out. The most heroic thing I’ve ever done is run in front of traffic to rescue a dog that had obviously escaped from somewhere (trailing his leash) and had panicked and run into the road. I just did it

Just make sure you always have a divan bed! I used to but now I have a normal base and now one of my dogs sleeps under there, so occasionally it whines, grunts and growls but otherwise it’s pretty safe.

Indeed. I mean by all means take photos/video of the attack itself, if you’re witnessing it from a distance and/or are too scared to intervene, because it could help identify the attacker and be used as evidence to convict them. But it sounds like they waited until he was gone then just took pictures of her lying

Have you got a source on that? I’m looking into the demographics of the voting and all I’ve seen so far is that turnout was lower in areas with higher proportions of young people, which doesn’t necessarily mean fewer of them voted because a lower percentage of a higher population could still mean more votes overall.

I’m not from London, and by ‘rest of the country’ I meant outside of the large cities. I’m surprised by Birmingham (and that’s interesting - perhaps it’s down to the fact that its migrant population is largely Asian and not European) but for the most part the areas that voted to remain were cities and the areas that

Yeah, sorry, I meant whoever’s in your news feed! But hopefully I’ve clarified things a bit.
