Lucas went out of his way to make the the Jedi seem boring and oppressive

Now playing

This skit later in the night was deeply messed up, but it cracked me up, especially what he gave up for Lent:

Just about the best opening monologue bit they've done in the last 10 years. And like all SNL skits for the last 20 years, about 30 percent longer than it should have been.

I see what you mean, but I don't think the point of this episode was "Jamie is mysogynistic, then Claire forgives him." I think it was all about Jamie casting off his beliefs of what a marriage should be, and recognizing that he and Claire are/should be equal. Once he does that, once he recognizes her role as an equal

Not really ... but that's kind of the point!

I spend an obscene amount of time mentally (or, unfortunately for anyone in earshot, verbally) cataloguing all the utterly insane and poorly-conceived aspects of the Cars setting. I'm fighting that urge here, esp. since someone inevitably comes along and explains it away as "just-a-cartoon" (never a good excuse, since

Are the R2 units parasites then?

Death Star, too....

Duuuuuuuuuuuddddee!!!!!

Lives like hers amaze me. When she was born Japan was still a medieval, feudal society; there were still Samurai. She saw it become an industrialized nation and a major military power, be defeated in a nuclear war, and saw the advent of computers, jet airliners, space flight and modern medicine. Just amazing. RIP,

Ok…So he is The Ogre in the same way Shaq would play someone named 'Tiny'.

Saaaaaaaameee

I still cannot fully process that this show is a real thing that's happening. This is not a show that went out on a high note. This is a show that had one great season then lingered, dying slowly for 3(?) more seasons. I don't understand how enough people thought bringing it back was a good idea for it to actually

It's different from something like "Star Trek," which started out campy and then, especially with the J.J. Abrams stuff, became legit somehow.

I know it won't happen, but I ship Liv and Ravi so much, and it's just been two episodes. C'mon, man. He gives her brains. If that isn't the equivalent of red roses, then I'm clearly doing it wrong.

Also has reasons for doing it out of horrible pragmatism, so does not see any problem with them.

Kyubey from Madoka Magica. Gives you a wish and makes you into a powerful magical girl. Of course there is a price not really discussed openly.
