They come in 25 shades of "average to tan white person" lol. For example MUFE, Bobbi Brown and Illamasqua that I can think of that has quite a few shades does not have one light enough for me.

I also had a Samantha but no accessories, my parents wouldn't get them for me because they were crazy expensive. I did get plenty of the books though.

Tinted Moisturizer pretty much only "evens skin tone", basically gets rid of redness and makes the skin look more uniform in color. It has hardly any coverage.
