There were many great moments in this episode, but the very final shot with a dirty and beaten Walt, framed by the trap door, laughing hysterically has to be one of the most chilling shots I've ever seen on TV.

When you think about it, Walt is is pretty much the same position he was in the Pilot. He's going to die, his family is going to be at the best destitute, and his usual means of recourse are completely inadequate to meet the challenge of this situation.
Well, now that his pride has failed him he may finally be up to some action.
No, because Skylar is stupid. She may have her moments, but she is fundamentally incompetent.
It would really make one question the value of the Emmys.

Exactly. They're both amazing, but they simply do different things. Once you get past a certain point of how good things are, any preference for one over the other simply becomes a matter of personal taste.
You didn't find the role reversal between Walt and Jesse to be very interesting in that scene? It almost perfectly mirrors Walt kicking a desperate Jesse out of his home in Season 2. Suddenly Jesse is the family man and Walt is the pariah.
