Ann03,
Ann03,
I thought "The Parallel" deserved better than a "C+."
I'm speaking about addressing the grounding and the car accident "after" this episode. After this episode, the incident is never discussed nor resolved. It's hard to believe that Mr. Weir would just forget about the whole thing. That was also a major car accident. Major car accidents of the family car by teenagers are…
This is one of the best Freaks and Geeks episodes. For the most part, Paul Feig wrote the best episodes in the series.
Wow, this is a very good movie that's so overlooked and forgotten. It wasn't even well known when it came out back in '88 which is sad.
Good observation, I forgot about Gus and the toilet. And you're right in many ways Walt at the car wash is like Gus at the chicken restaurant.
SmudgyBlurs,
SmudgyBlurs,
Well you're going to have slight deviations in rural school districts and private schools with small student populations. Prep schools don't really have tracking because the standards/requirements are usually set rather high and if you can't maintain them your kicked out of school.
Menocu, Disqus won't let me comment directly to your other post so I'll post it here.
Yeah, I thought this show was set in Southern California the first time I saw it because I didn't see the episodes in sequence. It's definitely one of the biggest weaknesses of the show.
Good one, I think he was drinking out of Sam's little Detroit Tigers ice cream plastic batting helmet.
"inane obsessive compulsive ridiculousness."
Wow, what's your problem??
This episode has two ridiculous plot holes:
I remember this movie was on HBO around 1980-81 when I was 14 and I must have watched it about a dozen times. I was kind of obsessed with it for a few months. I think the book/movie overall are excellent just in the universal/timeless themes they project: Freedom/Security, Conformity, Fear, Faith, Sacrifice, Bravery,…
That's an urban legend joke which nobody actually ever said in real life.
Teenage Jetsons would have made more sense.
Yeah, and then animated Jan was really book smart because she wore glasses?
Blansky's Beauties is considered one of the five spin-offs of "Happy Days:" Laverne and Shirley, Blansky's Beauties, Mork and Mindy, Out of the Blue and Joannie Loves Chachi.
Yeah, that was odd that ABC didn't pick up another Gary Marshall sit com. Maybe because it was just Blansky's Beauties re-boot with the names changed and the situations changed slightly.
