the only reason I'm even vaguely aware of this is due to his rather excellent memoir / musings on the craft entitled "On Writing." some of his tomes are amusingly thick, but when he sticks to nonfiction, the odds and sods I've read are concise and clear-eyed. it made me really appreciate his pragmatism in many regards.

My understanding is that Carrie is the book (and movie adaptation!) that really set his career on fire. All from a manuscript his wife pulled from the trash since it had been initially rejected, iirc.

Isn't the 3DS firmware cracked wide open too? I haven't looked into it extensively, but I thought I read something indicating that, with the right loader, you can download full games right from Nintendo's servers with minimal repercussions.
