That’s a fair point, but I still think that there is a (maybe intangible, or maybe I’m just too buzzed/tired to articulate it right now) difference between (a) men playing football and women playing basketball, and (b) the 50s and the ... whatever we’re calling this decade.

The same way there was so little parity when John Wooden’s UCLA men’s teams were dominating for like 12 years and won seven consecutive championships in the 60s and 70s.
