Yeah, currently scraping the last bit of mascara out of my $3 Ulta tube.

I’m sure they have some pedantic legalese to explain why your argument is supposedly a false equivalence. The reason why I ultimately decided to not go into law is that a lot of it is picking apart laws for loopholes so some douchnozzle like Paul Ryan can stand there and say that and have it be considered clever.

DACA was an executive order because a DACA bill failed in Congress by a few votes (some dems voted against it too). DACA was instated because of cruel immigration laws that ordered the deportation of people who were brought here as children but, culturally at least, were Americans.

Again, I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I support immigration reform because the current policies are racist and cruel. Speculating that dems fight for these just policies largely for political advantage is just insulting. These are human lives in limbo.

I’m in favor of more equitable immigration reforms because our current policies are racist and cruel. Idgaf about how it would change the electorate. I therefore find this argument is so frustrating. Also this doesn’t take into account that many immigrants come from socially conservative countries so dem votes aren’t

That’s very true, fortunately.

And that attitude is why the dems are losing seats. Progressives don’t know how to play politics. But I admit I’m biased because I am a left-leaning moderate.

It’s interesting how the factions in the Republican party (libertarians, the religious right, white supremacists) so easily overlook their differences in order to get their candidates in power. Meanwhile, the Dems are struggling with mainly progressives and neoliberals, who each want their image to be the main

I learned in my very liberal microeconomics class that the influx of undocumented immigrants has actually lowered wages, mostly is unskilled labor where businesses pay workers shit wages under the table instead of officially hiring someone.

This reminds me of when the Panama Paper scandal made its rounds in many European countries. Why was no one in the U.S. involved in the scandal? Because rich people here had no need to work with shady offshore companies in this instance - that shit is legal here. Why aren’t more people mad about this??

I remember the administration toyed with a policy of dumping a lot of undocumented immigrants in Mexico even if they weren’t from there. That violates treaty law, but I don’t think that’s something this administration cares about.

What’s your beef with the Eurythmics?

“Yeah there might be a lawsuit, but the taxpayers pay for that so who cares?” - the cop, probably.

Except the average wait time for a foreign national to gain U.S. citizenship is 10 years. If you’re a Mexican national, that average jumps to 40 years. I was born in the U.S., but if I was born in a country that bordered a significantly wealthier country, but was told I’d have to wait 40 years to get there legally,

And the US should do the same.

Thank you. I’d imagine they’re either no longer advertising that they didn’t vote for Hillary, or they’re straight up lying and now telling people they voted for Hillary.

Exactly. I’d estimate 99.9% of his supporters are white and they’re chill with racial profiling because 1. it gets rid of “criminal illegals” and 2. again, these people are white, so they’ll never have to experience racial profiling.

When I was a teenager, if I had been hot/famous with millions of followers, I probably would have done the same thing. Not proud of this, but it’s the truth.

But a lot of these statues weren’t erected until decades after the war. That’s what’s strange.

Right? I’ve only ever been to Munich, but there were tons of memorials (and Dachau) and yet, there were no swastikas or statues of Nazis.
