Or maybe pick a random position to get the points for each stage, announced at the beginning of the race. Stage 2: 17th place wins! Or you get bonus points at the end of the race based on the lowest position you were

Same here. My interview questions for prospective new-hires usually include: “What is a torque wrench used for and why?”, “What is the difference between strength and stiffness?”, and “What is the tap drill size for a 1/4-20 thread?”. Very few have the answer to the last one, but the way they answer it anyway tells me

“OkayIloveyoubyebye!” is still my occasional signoff. And everybody of a certain age has will say, “I think so, Brain, but burlap chafes me so.”
