ID plates fall off all the time. They are typically tacked on with 4/32” blind rivets. Those are tiny and it doesn't take much to pop one.

Way cool. I was at the Galileo Museum in Florance Italy yesterday and they had a bunch of amazing, huge 1500-1700s globes. All made by hand, of course. They had info on goring, but just said the shell was made from paper, wood and papier-mâché. Would have been cool to see how that process was done. Some pics from

It’s a struggle that many folks with a career face. Money, fame and responsibility need to balanced against family, happiness and your own dreams. I would imagine though, that would have been a very difficult decision to make.
